Es gibt Gegenstellen, die vor dem PPP handshake noch ein CR oder sowas wollen um in den PPP-Modues zu gehen. Vielleicht irgendwas in der Richtung?

PS: Wenn ich den pppd geschrieben hatte, wuerde ich ihn auf deiner Kiste mit "wrong hostname" terminieren lassen :)

Was ist das? Laeuft gleichzeitig ein gpm auf /dev/ttyS1? Wie sieht Deine ppp-Konfiguration aus? Hast mal das chat-Programm verwendet, das der pppd mitbringt?
