Can anybody of you give me some advice on good restaurants and dance/night clubs (most preferrably pop-rock) around ? I may not have time for fun at all on nights because of late work, but who knows, just in case ?

I think a mailing list of Linuxers is the last place I'd ask at for such advice :-) For good (and also partially affordable) restaurants, check out the Neustadt quarter. It's offering a broader scope of original cuisine than the city centre around Prager Straße.

For clubs, check out one of the gratuit leaflets which are available in all bars and in several locations on the campus. They include Sax, Prinz and others. There are also smaller ones available in record stores but this is probably not the kind of music you prefer.
