Hallo,
ich habe seit einiger Zeit folgendes Problem: Nach einer verschieden langen Zeit bringt mein CD-Brenner folgenden Fehler:
hdc: lost interrupt hdc: cdrom_pc_intr: The drive appears confused (ireason = 0x01)
Dann geht mit dem Laufwerk nichts mehr. Nach einem Neustart oder Reboot funktioniert wieder alles. Das Laufwerk ist ein Samsung SN-324 und ein Via Chipsatz. Darauf läuft ein Mandrake 10 mit Kernel 2.6.7.

Was sagt hdparm zu diesem Geraet? Sieht das Kabel in Ordnung aus?

Das ist ein Laptop. Da komm ich nicht ans Kabel ran. Unter WinXP (das nehme ich zwar nur selten) scheint der Fehler nicht aufzutreten.

Tja, ireason muesste den Wert 0 zum Schreiben und 2 zum Lesen haben, es liefert aber eine 1. Siehe hierzu drivers/ide/ide-cd.c Frag mich allerdings nicht, was das bedeutet, die Stelle war in den Kernelquellen nicht dokumentiert. :) Wenn das Laufwerk danach aber gar nicht mehr geht, und da der Eventhandler diese Abfrage (ist eine 0 oder eine 2 angekommen) immer wieder aufs neue macht, scheint dein Laufwerk vielleicht tatsaechlich verwirrt zu sein.
